TOWN V. UPPER MOUTERE A most enjoyable game was played on Saturday under ideal conditions, 'when Upper Moutere, winners of tbo Motueku District Championship, came into town and played a local team consisting of eight Athletics ami three Old Boys. Nelson batted first, opening to the "two crack Moutere bowlers, . ,-Mart and Sixtus. Runs came fairly i freely from the start, and the third wicket put on 87 very quickly. Louisson batted in quite his old form, hitting nine fours and Neale seven. _ .Both were caught in the long-Jlold 1 in forcing tlio scoring. Kinzett (2) and Guy showed good form, and the total reached 248. Moutere did not show their best form with the bat, but they had had a good spell in the field' and lone had no cricket since February. Hart hit freely for 39 in the first innings, and seven men reached double figures in the second innings. The Town reserve bowlers met with great success in this innings, hut the last wicket put on 48. It is hoped that a return game may bo played at the Moutere if the weather holds long enough.
