THANKS TO limllllATlON SOARA While Government departments come iu for a good deal of criticism in one way and anotlier, they also gain a fair amount of .praise, which receives less prominence in the public eye, says the N.Z. Times. The Repatriation Department has quite a number of testimonials to tin; assistance it has given returned men in settling down to their civil avocations. The list was further added, to when a letter of thanks was received by the board yesterday from a grateful soldier, who had been enabled to .settle down and make his way, and who ■sought to restore to the department the money it had advanced him to sot him on Iris feet. A loan of £3OO was advanced to him in 1919 to enable him to eater into business, and ho has now paid off his full account with the department pins interest. He asked that the hoard should be specially thanked for fhe consideration and courtesy that had been shown to him, and also mentioned that the loan had been of material service to him in his business.
