All sides of life are seen at the Auckland Relief Committee meetings (states the Star). At the meeting last week it appeared that a good deal of distress was caused innocent people by the action of bigamists. More than one case was investigated whore it was shown that the trouble had been cause dthrough men who had forsaken their homes, and, posing as single men, had broken the law as well as attempting to break unsuspecting women’s hearts. The members of the committee put this class of person in with the wife deserter, and the only solution suggested was that branding would be the best' cure, so that they would be known as inhuman parasites to those with who mthey lived and worked.
Writing from Gallipoli under date January 20th last, Lieutenant A. W. Mildenliall, N.Z. Forces, who is attached' to the imperial Graves Commission, gives Mr W. T. .Jennings, M.P., some particulars of interest to many in the Dominion. Shrapnel Valley cemetery is now under construction for the* permanent cemetery, and when completed will he a creditable work. The weather conditions) on Gallipoli had been very trying, and damage had been done in the smaller cemeteries. On Amnc Day this year, it is anticipated, a memorial service will be held on Anznc Cove Reach, and many visitors are expected from Constantinople .
