1 MEETINgT of committee I 1 TJxo Provincial Apple Show Commit- - tee met at the Fruitgrowers’ Council s. ■ room last evening. Present; Messrs Gilbert (Chairman), Hyde, Wigssell, Simpson, Milner, Hogg, Hurst, Gnfffu ■ Stewart, Sutton, Gribbl Estcourt. I It was reported tha various dls ■ tricts were showing kemi interest in > the show, including Redwood's V alley, Stewart Estate, .Ruby Pay and Ma’pua. Arrangements were made tor an oi- > chestra on show 'nights. Further action was taken regarding a display of Nelson fruit at Auckland. Judges were nominated for the various sections of the show, and will be communicated with. The following sub-committee was set up in connection with the packing competition; Messrs Griffin (convener), Hogg, Stef art and Sutton. Stewards were appointed as follows: Case fruit, Messrs Estcourt, Barry, Milner; plate classes, Messrs E. J- Allen and T. Horton; miscellaneous, Mr J. Stewart: domestic, Mr Stewart; cooked exhibits, Mr Estcourt: children’s competition, Mrs C. Milner. It was resolved to invite the pupils of the Colleges and schools to the show, as in former years, and that apples be procured for free distribution for the children. It was decided to ask the Cawthron Trustees to make a display, at the show.
