\ vci'V prcltv wedding took place in St .John’s Methodist Church. Nelson, on Tuesday. Nov. 15th, 1921, when Ralph Bernard, youngest son of Mr and Mrs L W. Newport, nf Brook Street Xclfiofi, Vv'U.s united hi tliu boudu of iLiitnniony. to kdiih Myrtle, oldest' daughter of Mr and Mrs IL I. burster of Trafalgar Street, Nelson, the bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dress of pale apricot crepe-de-chenc trimmed with beads and ait overskirt ot real Homton lace. Site also Wore the orthodox veil and ora ime blosonis aild carried a, beauti- J fid shower-bouquet of pah' amber roses, and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Mis Lillian Forster, sister of the bride* wlio wore u dainty frock of hohotrope crcpe-de-clieiie, and a white lace straw hat trimmed with heliotrope, and carried a bouquet of heliotrope sweet peas and asparagus fern, and Alias Rita Newport, sister of the bridegroom who wore pink crepe-de-chenc, and lace leg- J horn hat, (rimmed with pink, and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas and asparagus fern, and Miss rJoi’eiice Forster, youngest sister of the bride, acted as flower girl, and was dressed in white silk, and" carried a basket of white pinks. Mr R. Marshall carried out the duties of best man, and Air W. Forster, those of groomsman. The officiating clergyman was Rev. H. L. Blamircs. ‘The voice that breathed o'er Eden,” was, sung as the wedding hymn, Mr Mayson .presiding at the organ also played the 'Bridal March. After the ceremony, the guests were entertained at the ■ “Haeramai,” The beautiful four decker wedding cake, , which was greatly admired, was made i by the bride’s father. The bridegroom’s i presents to the bridesmaids were, to Miss Forster, a silver purse, 'and to ] Miss Newport and Florence Forster, | silver chains and pendants. The bou- - quels .were made by the brides aunt, I Airs E. W. Holbrook of Palmerston North. The presents were both numerI ous and costly, including a number of ' cheques. The happy couple later left , by motor, (amid showers of confetti :uid ■ good wishes),-. for their future homo at Murchison. The bride’s travelling costume was of fawn gabardine, neatly I braided, and a dainty pink and gold bat.
