ANNUAL MEETING
Tlir annual meeting of the Second C.I.L. Land (late * 12tii N. and M. lir'iitiiciil) wa.fs held ill the' Hand Uoom nil .Monday last, Bandmaster Lieut. T. 11. Hughes being in the chair. LFLOUT AM) BALANCE SHEET Tim report and balance sheet lor the year ending 51st June, 1921, were read and adopted. The report slated inter alia:—Tim Land competed at the Nelson Contest in March last, and although nut successtul in gelling into tie pri'/.e list, they put up a fairly good performance. The soloists most successful were Corporal \\. Loch. Ist hass drum solo, Landsman G. A. Day, 2nd baritone solo, .). W. Glennie, 2nd trombone solo, ,i. Lowe, 3rd euphonium solo, and (be Laud 4th in Hie quartette. The Land held a very successful social evening during Iho year, and the opportunity was taken lo make a presentation in ex Landsman F. Lock on the eve of his departure for Auckland. Following their usual custom the Land went out carolling on Christmas Day. the public, responding in a, must liberal manner. Tim Land played out on 56 occasions during the year. Three very pleasant onclire tournaments with the. Fire Brigade were hold, the Band winning two out of the three. The animal carnival was held on Ist February, and the committee in whoso hands 11m arrangements were left deserve every credit for the manner in which thev carried out their duties. Tim secretary, Sergt. 11. il. Wimsott, expressed his 'intention of relinquishing Hud office. Complimentary reference to the work of Sergt. Wimsett was made hy several members and a motion conveying the hearty thanks of the Land was passed by acclamation.
