ATTEMPT TO GET SECRET COMMISSION

At. the Magistrate’s Court to-day Donald Campbell, for some years chief steward on the Amoknra, was lined £2O. for attempting to get a. secret commission of 21 per cent on goods' supplied to vessel-; 'by the New /calami Co-oporalive Distributing Company.- As a matter of fact Campbell had'not received any commission. His counsel said iie had not been the first to .suggest the arrangement, hut had fallen in it. The penali*’ for default was fixed at two mouths’ imprisonment.
