There was a record, crowd at A intree, and the Royal party received a groat, ovation. The Prince of Wales visited the course before 7 o’clock ia the morning, and witnessed the gallops. inquiring tho names of the Grand National candidates. Mo chatted with tho trainers .and jockeys ,aud walked round tho course. The Grand National Steeplechase resulted : Shaun Spadah 1, Bore 2, All While 3. There were 37 runners. Roes rode the winner. The race was a most dramatic one. All the horses fell on the first circuit except the winner. Brown, Bore’s rider, broke his collar hone. Shaun Spadah was the only horse to cover the course without mishap. Turkey Buzzard was fourth. No other horse" finished. A similar position arose in 1911, when Glenside was the only horse to complete without falling, and finished at a walking pace.
