Sir,—As a, visitor from a southern city to Nelson for the contest, prior to leaving to-morrow morning I would like to convey to the Nelson people congratulations on the expeditous and thorough manner in which the contest has been carried through.' g \ . _ To the Nelson people great praise ia due for the impartial hearing that each individual band has received on the concert platform. 'The secretary (Mr. Leaper) Iras indeed had a very pleasant task* in controlling the great concourse which gathered each evening. AH visitors have been made to feel very much at home. W e leave Nelson tomorrow on our homeward journey via the West Coast, with pleasant recollections of the week spent hero, F amj etc., 1 JAMES WYLIE.
