LONDON WOOL SALES,

The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from London, under date 9th inst.: —“The sales have opened with weak competition and fair attendance of buyers. There is a slow demand owing to depression in trade. Since. Ist October, quotas tions are lower, and may now be summarised as follows --Greasy coarse crossbred ltd (no bidding), greasy medium crossbred 12jd to 14j-d, grea.vv fine crossbred 19d to 23d, greasy _ inferior merino-common 19jd to 23£ d. greasy superior merino super 30Vd to ♦>s'2'<l, greasy halfbred 21 id to. 33.id.’’

LONDON TALLOW MARKET,

Tlie Bank of Now' Zealand has removed the following advice from London under date 10th inst.: —“Tallow market easier. Good mutton £3 10s to £3 12s ; beef £3 Bs, £3 13s; good mixed £3 Bs, £3 10s; inferior, £2 10s, £2 155.”

Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cable from their London house, under date of the 9th Nov. : —Wool sales opened hat. Attendance of buyers is up to the average ; competition is poor. As compared with last sale*? closing rates, Merino wools super 10 per cent, lower when sold. Merino wools of other, descriptions 15s per cent to 20 p.c. lower. Very few sold, owto Government limit still too highCrossbred wools, fine and medium quality, 20 per cent, to 25 per cent, lower*; coarse is not wanted, nominally 10 per cent, to 15 per cent lower.” Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 10th November :■ — “Tallow: 2440 casks were offered;*42o casks sold. Tallow good colour, mixed unchanged. Medium and inferior descriptions, 3s to 4s lower. Mutton, prime.' there are sellers at 755. , Buyer? are holding off.” *

DUNEDIN MARKETS,

Messrs Bray. Bros. (Dunedin), Ltd , report as follows for fhe week ending 13th November, 1920:—The apple market has improved, and good lines have been realising satisfactory prices, which we think will continue on to the end of the year. There has been a big demand for gaad cookers, but very few offering. The following prices were realised during the week:—Apples, Sturmers 10s to 20s; Doughertys 15s; llokewoods 9s to 15s; cookers 8s to 10s 6d. Pears, Winter Cole los. Potatoes £2 10s to £4: new, local 6cl to 8d; Auckland 2-J-d. Eggs, stamped, 2s; cased Is lOcl to Is lid.
