MADRID, Oct. 14

The Postal Conference will probably last a further .six weeks. The agenda includes two thousand propositions; hut the principal task is to readjust tho international postal rates. Owing to tho extraordinary differences in exchanges in countries within the Postal Union, whereby the face value of ■stamps bear no relation to money values the Conference is endeavouring to find a solution ‘by adopting a gold franc as a standard, „By this, means all international postages will be regulated, thus equalising values. It is algo proposed to raise all international postages to meet the increased cost pt postal services. '
