LAB IES 1 CH AMP 10 N Hli IP. (United Press Association) GISBORNE,-Sept. 6. The ladies’ hockey 'championbhiptournament was continued to-day under unpleasant conditions. In A section, Wanganui defeated Wairarapa by throe goals to two. In tlie second match in A section, Poverty Pay A defeated Wellington by four goals to two. In B section, Auckland beat Poverty Bay by 4 goats to nil. The second B section, game between Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu was won by Hawke’s Bay by 4 goals to 2. NORTH ISLAND TEAM. The following team has been selected to represent North Island in the in-tof-island match at the Basin Reserve next Saturday-Coaly B. Cooper (Auckland); right Ml-back, R. England (Auckland); left fallback, 0. K. Perrin (Manawatu) ; right half, C'. Martin (Wellington), centre half, C. V. Johns (Auckland), left half, H. M‘Gregor (Wellington) ; forwards : right wing, N. R, Jacobsen (Hawke’s Bay), inside right. A. Alexander (Auckland), bully, L. H. Grice (Auckland), inside left, L. Boyd (Wellington), left wing, S.* Land (Hawke’s Bay).
