The ‘Overseas .Settlement Committee has received 47,00-0 applications from ex-service men and women for free passages to the dominions, numbering 250,000 souls, including dependants. The committee issued to the end of •July passage warrants for 13,000 applicants, numbering 66,000 souls including dependents. Fifty per cent, are proceeding to Canada, 25 per cent, to Australia, 15 per cent to New Zealand, 5 per cent, to South Africa, and the balance to East Africa, Rhodesia-, and other parts of the Empire. Applications will not be accepted alter December.
