I danger Godchildren I Referring to the recent fatality at| | Sydenham, when two children were I badly injured, one sucvmbujg, ‘oy reason of the ignition of some toy i camera films, the Superintendent cf the Christchurch Eire Brigade suggested to the Fire IVami that in view of the fact that many such toy camera machines were sold ami operated by adni.g and children, .without knowledge of the danger involved, the matter should he brought under the notice of the Government, so that regulations might be framed to? provide for the safety in inexperienced persons using the machines, or, as an alternative, that the Government lie asked to bring down legislation for the safety of persons using cinema cabins in picture theatres and all places of public S amusement, and regulations could alsm be made for the sale of the miniature apparatus as used by children, Mr H. Holland said the accident was an isolated one, and there | did not seem to be any occasion to ask the Government for special i legislation. A better pla,n would 1 bo to have the children instructed | in the danger of cinema films in) schools. 11 Mr H. R.
