AIR TRAFFIC TO CONTINENT

It should prove interesting to describe the traffic in and out of Croydon, the ‘‘Charing Cross of the air/ during a busy day (writes a Loudon paper). At 9.30 a.m, a French biplane oets out for Brussels with passengers. Just after 30 a.m. a fast British ma(•■bine with goods and mails, leaves lor i Paris’ At 30.40 a.m. an air express [departs for Amsterdam. _ . 1 Soon afterwards a British machine I alifiits from Paris witE passengers, being followed by another with goods. ' U 1.50 a.m. a specially chartered /biplane with two travellers leaves on its 100-miles-an-hour journey to Fans. \t l‘b3s p.m. a goods machine leaves for the French capital, being followed : soon afterwards by another Alter luncheon a small, fast trench biplane , lands from Paris with mads i At 4.55 p.m. the scheduled afternoon air express loaves for Paris. At 7.35 p.m. one of the new 1 saloon expresses comes in trom laris I with eight passengers; and, later on, just before dark, a biplane with parcels lands from France. Towards the end of May, m one day’s flying as many as 16 aeroplanes, I o and from the Continent, were checked in and out of Croydon ; while during fhe course of a recent week there weie nearly 300 flights between London, Belgium, and Holland.
