Minister spoke of tho huge demands being made on the Treasury, A rough estimate of the- claims, made since the opening of the session, showed that about £100,000,000 was involved. A member of the deputation : “lou don’t menu that is claims for tho military ?” Mr, Massey: “Good heavensj mi!" Continuing, ho said it was quite impossible to find all tho money being asked for. No country with a, lation and enormous liabilities of Now Zealand could possibly do it. _ The Government would do its best in regard t.o all claims made upon it, and would see justice was done.
