HEW ZEALAND BUTTER

Mr. McNeil, iff the House of Commons, in deference to the disposal oi New Zealand’s butter through the Cooperative Society, asked Mr McCurdy on what evid'ence ho based his anticipation that consumers would nob suffer on a readjustment of trading arrangements. Mr. McCurdy pointed out that no arrangements were yet made to sell New Zealand produce through the Society. The 'Ministry would carefully consider anv contemplated action. Meanwhile it was impossible to any whether action was necessary. ine Ministry intended to maintain the existing restrictions on private dealings in blitter. Ho considered the Ministry’s powers wholly adequate to guard the consumer.
