AUCKLAND ELECTRICAL PLANT

(United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. .19. A scheme formulated by the City Electrical Engineer proposes the expenditure of £448,000 on extension of the city electrical plant. The scheme 't involves' the conversion of the existing tramway power-house into a sub-station, and will, it is hoped, result in a saving of £20,000 annually in eoal consumption and labour. The report was referred to a , committee of the whole council to-night.
