RIFLE SHOOTING
NELSON 1 DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
On Saturday the Club fired a. championship over £OO and 600 yards 'range ; also counting for Mr A. Robinson s trophy. A tricky .south-east wind made good practice for marksmen, especially for these going to the Dominion, Rifle Association's meeting next month. It wiia expected that a. strong teaau would he going from 'Nelson to compote for the Championship Shield, but at present it is doubtful if one or two <f the team will be able to get away. Tin's Is to bo regretted, as last vear we came within an aec of winning, being only three points behind. For the championship Rifleman Day came out on top, and' Rifleman Busch secured the leg-in for the trophy . The fol lowing are the .principal scores: —
