UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD

The.' monthly meeting of the Board was held on October 25th, all the members being present. Tire resignation of Mr A. Wilkens, ■the late secretary to the Board, who is. leaving the district, was accepted with regret, and Mr 31. J. Burke was appointed) to the position. Correspondence, was read from the secretary of thio iSiqhioolf Committee a Association. Motueka, in voting' # thc Board td attend a meeting in Motueka in connection with the conference of delegates of ■ iSohooill Committee Associ at ions fit Wellington'. The 'Chairman reported l having attended! the meeting, and lexpfjfi/iinfed the (business transacted 1 .
In response to a. comrmmicaition from the County Clerk, it was decided; to ''ovward a ceitificate to the effect that th£ Board' 'is not levying a special rate this year. Advice was weaved from the Public \Torfcs Department, Nelson, that part of the subsidy on (Sunrise Valley road had been paid to the Board’s credit at the bank.
It avas resolved that any further metalling in large lots be held over for the present. The members of the Bond arranged! -to meed and' tinspe-ot the Gardiner’s Valley and o'd Motueka coach roads. Accounts amounting to £sl 19s Id were passed for. payment, and the Board adjourned.
