The hearing, of the charges preferred aginat Richard William Martin, a foreman painter in the employ of Robert Martin, Ltd., Manners street, was con tinned in the Supreme Court, Wellington, on Friday. Martin was charged with sending on October 13th, 1918, a lette- to Alexander Collins, also em-

ployed by, Robert Martin, Ltd., threat* ening to kill him. also with sending on February Sth, 1919, another threatening letter to the same individual. The jurymen were out for about five minutes. and returned a verdict of not guilty. There was an attempt at applause in the body of The court, which was quickly s"'enced.
