ANOTHER STATE PURCHASE

The Government has completed a veiy important purchase of some 3000 acres of land in the Makuri district, between Pahiatua and Fongaroa, from Mr F. Moore, of Wanganui. The purchase, stated the Minister for Lanc’r, included the whole Of the stock, abt ut £9OOO worth of sheep and cattle; ami the price paid for the land he regarded as a veiy favourable one for the Government. “I would not mind being ; n the Government’® shoes,” said Mi Guthrie.
