WAKEFIELD SOLDIERS’ ME MORTAL.
'To the Editor. > Sir,—Would you permit me, as chairman of the committee in connection with the above, to remove a misunderstanding that seems to have arisen. There is no feeling of rivalry on the part of the promoters of the above object to 'Chaplain-Captain Mathieson’s • proposal for the establishment of a . Y.M.C.A. branch here, which will doubtless have the support it deserves. The Committee to further the memorial ; were appointed and instructed at a well attended public meeting, after the proposal had been fully ventilated. The proposal has been referred to the next ; of kin of those who fell in the war, and 'it has the full approval of all who ] replied. The Committee I know will . ■ be quite, ready to help the Padre when his scheme is ready. : —l am, etc., v f ? E. W. HODGSON.,
