Out of this he had to pay for repairs £4O; highway and poor rates, £35; water rate, £l2; houw duty, £5 ss; income tax on house and garden, £29; to Queen Anne’s Bounty in respect of bathroom and heating apparatus, £ls; fire insurance, and other small amounts, all annual charges upon the house.
