'On the evening of the 17th inet., a : very plea.sanfc evening was held in the Noting a. school, to' bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Struck, who are leaving .for iVnimea West. The school, which was tastefully decorated, was with residents from all parts of the district, ilarty thanks are due to Miss McOallum and Mr L. Petterson for being the promoters of such a • successful evening, and also to Mr Kedgley, who so. ably presided. During an ; interval in the programme the chairman, in a few words, commented on the high esteem with-which. Mr and Mrs Strack were held in. the district, and at the sorrow which’ everyone present felt at their departure, wishing them every success in their new home. Fergus Hitchcock, on behalf of the school children, presented Mr and Mrs , Strack with a handsome clock, and Ter- j ruinated a little speech by expressing the wish that Mr and M rs Strack. would never forget them, as they would certainly never be forgotten. , ,'< ■ i Mr Strack, on behalf <?f ; himself and hi*, wife, thanked the children for,th«ur present and kind wishes.
