Speakers agreed that the ravages of the bird* were becoming increasingly sen ©us. Instances were given where sheep were killed as low as 7VU feet above sea Ivel, and later it was feared the birds might* take possession of the whole country. , The meeting resolved to ask the Government to declare keas noxious birds and give a grant of five shillings a head for killing them; also that i" thould be compulsory for county coundls to employ men to kill the birds.
