IMPORTANT CONFERENCE, j (Aust. & N.Z, Cable , Assn & Reuter) I PARIS, March. 26. Tne representatives of the “Big Four Powers (Britain, United States, France, and Italy) began a conference on peace terms in absolute , secrecy, __ without stenographers or owing to complaints of leakage of information from the Council of Ten, which, at times when matters regarding small nations were under consideration, vas caused embarrassment through delegations of small States clamouring to have their views placed before the Council. Apart from this, it was realised that cumbrous machinery was causing delay in reaching peace. HOW GERMANY IS TO PAY. (Roc. March 28, 10.45 a.m.) PARIS, March 27. A financial sub-committee has been appointed to deal with Germany’s debts and German S ate property The subcommittee was ordered to recommend how obligations- should be imposed by tho Allies on Germany.
