(United Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 26.

Regarding the votes of discharged soldiers at the licensing poll,''Mr T K. "idey, M.P., sent a telegram to Sir James Allen, Acting-Primp Minister, asking if it is practicable to take an info'mal poll of these votes, keeping them separate, and if it is found that they will affect the result to legalise them when Parliament meets. r Sir James Allen replied that the matter had been investigated from every point of view by the Solicitor-General and the Attorney-General, and it had been ascertained that such’votes would be illegal. The Minister says he cannot see any good purpose would - be served by having these votes recorded.
