UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD
ROAD BOARD. The monthly meeting of 'the Upper Moutere Road Board was held on 'Saturday evening, Jan. 25th, 1919, when, the following members were present: Messrs A. Bensemann, O. Thomas; H. Beuke, and J. Harvey. Mr A. Bensemann occupied the chair. Accounts totaling £9 18e dd were passed for payment. A memo, was read from '.he Resident Engineer, Public Works Department, re the junction of Apple Valley road with the Mapua to Appleby roadt, stating j that the»contractor had been instructed to remedy the fault.—Resoled, that tne . chairman and Mr Beuke interview the Resident Engineer re the above road Two memos, were received from '-‘he Department of Internal Affairs re permits issued by the Board.— Resolved that the secretary refer the officer ; in charge of the Depart men'.' to a previous letter dated October Ist, 1918. A memo .was read from Messrs Bis'ey and Co.. re the Supplejack fordway, asking that a concrete fordway be put in, and offering '-o contribute £2 IBs, providing the land-owners using the ford contribute an equal amount, the Board' to provide the balance.—Resolved, that the secretary wri'e to Mr Bisley informing him that if he can give a guarantee of £7 10s from himself and the landowners of the valley using the ford, the Board will consider the matter, and ge-i a capable man to report on the cost of the work. The following works were authorised: —That the road grader be put on Henderson’s and the old Motueka Beach road; also that 'work on Apple Valley road near Mr Argue’s be; done when labour is available, Mr Harvey to super- ? vise both works j that Mr Harvey get the bridges on Gardener’s Valley road repaired. , ■ ■
