Daie of NOMINATION for all events and ENTRANCE for Trial Stakes, THURSDAY, February 13th, 1919, 8 p.m. HANDICAPS for First Day’s events, declared on or about Thursday, February 20th, 1919. ACCEPTANCES for First Day’s events, THURSDAY, February 27th. 1919, at 6 p.m. Second Day’s HANDICAPS, WEDNESDAY, March 6th, 1919, at about 7 p.m. ACCEPTANCES for Second Day up to. 8 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, March 6th, 1919. RULES. 1. Definition of a Hack.—Hack means a horse that has not at time of nomination won a race of the value of 150 eovs to the winner, or races of the aggregate value of 400 sovs to tue winner. 2. All protests must be accompanied by a deposit of £2, which shall be forfeited should the Stewards consider the protect frivolous or vexatious. Provided that in the trotting races the deposit must be £5, which will be forfeited if such protest be not sustained. 3. All Nominations and Entries for Trial Stakes dose at the Secretary’s Office, Nelson, on THURSDAY, 13th February, at 8 p.m. Nominations must be ..made in writing, .addressed “Secretary, Jockey Club, Nelson,” arid if by telegram must be confirmed by letter first mail afterwards, and to be accompanied by the necessary fees) also name, age, colour, sex and pedigree of the horse, and! colours to be worn by the rider or driver. Any owner neglecting to furnish this information at ■the time of nomination will be fined £5.

4. The Flat Races will be run under thb Rules of the New Zealand Rules of Racing. The Trotting events will be run under the Rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association. 5. The winner of any race after the I declaration of handicaps may be re--1 handicapped. 6, Every person applying for admission to any course, and ©very person i entering or endeavouring to enter. a ; horse for any race, and every person shaving or subsequently acquiring any j interest in such, horse, shall be deemed jto accept all conditions and restrictions imposed or'implied by these Rules, and to be barred from questioning the action of the Conference, appeal judges, Association, Club, Racing Club, or body, committee, stewards, officials, ■agents, or servants in respect to any such person connected therewith otherwise than is provided for in Part XXX. of these Rules. 7. The Provident Fee is now £l, and must be paid to the Association before nomination, otherwise a fine of £5 will be imposed. , 8. Owners of trotters must give with nomination the last three performances, and also the best winning time the horse has ever made. . \ 9. Trotting events will be handicapped on time' system. 10. The names of the trainer and owner, or owners, must be included in all Acceptance forms when acceptances are sent in, in default of which the owner, or trainer, may be fined a sum not exceeding £5, or disqualified. 11.
