Fighting was continued at Berlin on Wednesday evening around the Reichs* tag bui.ding. Grenades were freely used. Houses are being searched for arms and ammunition. Fifty thousand: copies of Rotefahno have been. sieved - containing Liebknecht s last article, declaring that he, and Rosa Luxembourg had not fled. He said; “We are not beaten. Whether they chain us or not, victory will be ours. The Spartaous means a world revolution. The journey to Golgotha of the German labouring class has not yet ended,, but the day of deliverance is near.’* REAL REVOLUTION BEGUN. , '"LONDON, Jan. 19. The Manchester Guardian’s Berlin correspondent says the real revolution has begun, and each side is determined to fight to the last. If the Government wins probably a Pyrrhic victory will sow the seeds of future disaster. The Tunes Hague correspondent states that Ebert ujtecided that it was unnecessary to employ Hindenburg at Berlin, and Hindenburg left for Cassel.

FURTHER BOLSHEVIK OUTBREAK FEARED. CITY IN MILITARY OCCUPATION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. Jan. 21, 11 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, Jan. 17. Extreme nervousness is felt in Berlin that the deaths of Liebknccht and Rosa Luxembourg will b© the cause of reprisals. Most people fear fresh violence. Them is the same tension as prior to the Bolshevik rising, but the Government is fully prepared. Tfee whole of Berlin is in military occupation. Searches for arms continue. The police and military are empowered search, people in the streets without question. Crowds in the streets are absolutely forbidden. ELECTION RIOTS. LONDON, Jan. 19. Riots marked the German elections of the National Assembly. There is a general strike at Leipzig, andl the city ie without gas and water. A mob destroyed' the election bureau on Sunday. r - * *

The Daily Express Geneva; correspendent -states that Switzerland is threatened with an invasion of Teutonic agents; Austria has issued 40,000 passports for Switzerland and Germany has iseued ( mostly for business men, financiers and commercial travellers. v Fifty-two Austrian and German firms, with large capital, have been registered in Switzerland this year.
