WELLINGTON, This Day
The first of the thousands of men in Featherston Camp left for their homes on Monday. Instructions ha-vo been issued to lay down the principle that men who have been in camp the longest be discharged first; but in the meantime convalescents and men required to keep State services going have preference. The staff i.s normally able to d'eal with 500 to 600 discharges daily; out the rate is at present reduced to though it is hoped* the figure will be 350 to 500 in a few days.
Trains and steamers are raising ail unforseen obstacle, because of the epidemic, but the men are promised that they will be out of camp by th© Ist December, providing no ■unforeseen obstacle arises-
