Sir James Allen stated to-day that he knew no more regarding the appointment 01 a permanent New Zealand Minister in London than had. appeared in the press cablegrams. As far 'he knew, the leaders would! be back in time for the opening of Parliament. The position was that Parliament -was prorogued till October sth, and he'presumed that everybody would want to finish -the business before Christmas.
