TOWN SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Nelson Town Schools Committee was heid last tvenme. .Present: Messrs E. E. Boyes (cLd.i-J:':an), It. Watson, J. W. Treacher. W McConchie. S. Winn, J. N-E.i.-dale, Mesdames Buchanan and Redgrave. Mr J. A. Stringer was excused. ! , Th-- report from the Girls' Scho<»- showed 657 names on the roll. the average attendance being 89.1. Mi Knapp reported tnat with tne 'improved weather there was less sickness, and that the attendance was now- highei than for the past three months. Tne report from the Boys' School showed a roil of 554, the average atten-dan-v for the month being 85.9. Various' small requirements were noted b} Mr Gibbs.
Accounts amounting to £42 17s were passed for payment.
