Hairr reports:—We took prisoners a few in the Ayette sector and nlso southward of the Scarpe, where patrols penetrated some distance into the enemy positions. We repulsed raids northward of the Scarpe, and further progresed in the Merville sector. Our artillery and machine-gun l fire completely broke up a counter-attack on new positions between Cuttersteen and Meteren.
