RACING CONFERENCE.

At the Racing Conference resolutions were passed as follows: — .Every license issued by a district committee shall, subject to its suspension or cancellation, entitle the person therein named as trainer or jockey to train or ride as the case may be during the term mentioned in the license. H no dividend winning ticket is taken on the first hox-se, the dividend shall be paid on "the second horse only; and if no dividend-winning ticket is' taken on the. second horse, the dividend shall be paid on the first horse only. "District Committee" means a committee consisting of the chairman and j five ■ members of the committee of the j Metropolitan Club anH of , r: «-- ,-1.J0., ,t-,- ' to be elected by tntalis'itor <•!"'•« ji i°}.,-» ; Metropolitan district; the chairman of 1 the committee of the Metropolitan Club j shall be ex officio rhairman of the dis- ! trict committee j five to form a quorum. ■ jlf it be intended to run a horse in | shoes heavier than racing plates, the ! owner or trainer of such horse must report the fact to the stewards prior to . weighing out. Every club shall during the month of ■ August of each year forward to the secretary of the Conference an audited bal-ance-sheet showing the receipts and expenditure of the club during the p:e- , vious year. A proposal declaring ineligible for election as a delegate to a district committee a paid official of ~any ,chib was lost, as were motions with the crouch seat and' raising tho .minimum weight from 6st 71b to 7st. The Conference authorised' the issue of an appeal, to racing clubs, asking them to" assent to the use of surplus funds for loans and patriotic funds. ■Sir George Clifford was re-elected president, his services.-to racing being highly eulogised by .members. The Dates Committee was re-elected. iMr 'A. McKellar ; was re-appointed auditor, and the. Hon. 0. Samuel was t elected a trustee. .
