H. ;Richmond, The Cliffs, as to drainage of storm water at Tahuria, and asking the Council to take immediate steps.—(Resolved thg.t the Council admits no liability. From Mrs E. J. Kingsland, Appleby, re storm water under and surrounding her'house. to Engineer. ' From Mr W. D. Harkness, secretary Farmers' Union, forwarding resolutions re Arinesbrook Railway Crossing (1) that the railway line be diverted overhead; (2) that a delegate be appointed to a conference on the subject.—lt was considered that what was intended was to divert the road, not the railway line.— The County Chairman, was appointed to represent the Council at the conference. From Mr J. W. Eves, Wai-iti, re Trass Valley road, —-Resolved that £lO be spent. Frbm Mr T. McGaveston, re Pokororo River road.—Referred to Engineer.
' From Mr W. F. Cress-welT, Lower Moutere'; re dangerous condition of Bridge Bush road. —Work in hand. From Mr S. ißuss, Appleby, asking for contribution towards cost of erecting a stop bank.—Council to visit; From Matariki Farmers' Union, as to various matters in Tadmor district. —(Re-quests*-considered and variously dealt with.
From -Mr C. E. Bowron, Tophouse, re bad state of road leading to his property;— Engineer to inspect. 'From Mr B. J. Lammas, Dovcdale, as to preservation of trees along his boundary in view of the growing scarcity of timber.—Referred to Engineer.
The Stanley Brook Farmers' Uflion wrote' regarding a number of matters affecting the IStanley Brook district, and the | Engineer 1 was instructed to have them attended to.
From 'Mr'E. E. Bell, iMaitai, again asking that road repairs be effected. — Vote of £5lO to be expended as soon as possible. From Messrs 'Rout and Milner, on behalf of Mi-is E. N. Richardson, as to proposed l expenditure of public moneys upon the road alongside Sharland's Creek, and stating that the expenditure could not be allowed to prejudice her exclusive rights to the land over which the road runs.
From Mr T. M. iMorrissey, drawing attention to the bad state of the Mariri section of the Moutere Inlet road, which •was almost impassable, and a disgrace to the Council andi a danger to those who had to use it. The writer chared the Council with "callous indiffe: • ice in respect to this district for the past eigH years." , Crs. Hewetson and Allport agreed th-it the road was in a shocking state.
