Feb. 25. ■"'Mr Pirrie Robinson writes that the indications of an early offensive include reports that all Germans on furlough have been ordered, to return not later than 28th February. Thereafter no leave will be granted for thflree months. The reports may be in the form of camouflage but the soldiers themselves believe them. Meantime tremendous enemy preparations are going on. The -newspaper I'Homme Li'br e states that 1000 hostages have been selected from prominent French people, includin? refined' girls, taken from homes and sent to Hollzminden camp as a reprisal for air raicts. "T'hey /were exposed- to scandalous treatment. Where 30' girls refused to mate-sacks for the enemy, they were locked up without proper food or light for over a month. . Mattresses-, bedclothes and even woollen underclothing were taken. They . were only released when a Spanish inspector arrived- visit the camp. The Gfermans made atv effort to hide the outrage, bub the Spaniards learnt the facts.-
