HOTELKEEPERS FINED.

(United Press Association.) WOODVIItLE, Jan. 31. At the Magistrate's Court this morning three hotelkeepers were fined in sums varying from £1 to £2 for permitting shouting on December sth. The offences were admitted formally, but it was urged that, it . being race day, the hotels were busy and breaches of the law were inadvertently committed. Tho police stated that the hotels were well conducted, and~tnat ther<? had been np previous convictions. The Magistrate said the fines would be; light, of the police evidence and the fact . that there were no previous convictions, but if the offenders came before him again severe penalties would be imposed.
