In Friday's issue we gav e extract* from the Government Statistician's return showing crop areas and their nature in the Counties of Waimea, Collingwood, Takaka and Murchison. In regard 66 grasses - and clovers, green andv.i'oofricrops for the season 1916-17 the figures are: •Cut for seed only :—Ryegrass—Waimea 67 acres (none in other counties)'; cocksfoot, Waimea 44 acres, Murchison G acres; Chewing' Fescue, Waimea 17 acres, Murchison.. 7 acres; Crested Dogstail ; "red-clover and cowgrass, Waimea 20 acr#s 5 white clover ; other grasses *hq, clovers, Waimea 16 acres.
