FIGHTING ALONGSIDE THE FRENCH. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association ■(Bee. Oct. 29, 2.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 29. The United 1 Press correspondent at Aimerioan Headquarters reports that the iSaimmes are fighting alongside the Poilus. The greatest camaraderie exists. The infantry restlessly await tlie order to advance. They marched through the streets of a village at nightfall. Some sang "Tipperary" in an undertone. The Americans display the greatest enthusiasm. Th e first shell case used 'by the Battery has been sent to President Wilson. NOT INI THE' FIGHTING. (Rec. Oct. 29, 2.40 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 28. The troops are in the trenches for observation and training. It cannot be regarded as a real beginning of American participation in the fighting. They will later be replaced by other, contingents in order to accustom tho whole of the troops to the conditions of the trenches in the danger zone andl the shock of shellfiro. FURTHER DISCLOSURES. (Rec. Oct. 29,-2.40 p.m.) NE'W YORK.. Oct. 28. The United Press Buenos Aires correspondent commenting on the New York Times' story, states that the authorities indicate that correspondence exists which has not yet Beep ,I'evealed, but they are unable to divulge it now because of Congress being in recess. ""
