STOKE ESCAPEES .At the Magistrate's Court to-day three inmates of the Stoke Training Farm were charged v.ita stealing, ot?i September lytli. 16 tins of preserved fruit, valued" at 14s. the property, of Fdwin Smailbonc. The boys were 'also charged with breaking a pane of glass, of the vai-.iß o. 12s 6d. the property of Edwin Smallbone. The accused pleaded guilty to 'x>th charges. On the first charge the Magistrate convicted and ordered each accused to receive three strokes of the birch and be returned to the institution.
