In the House of Commons last night, Mr Rees \ (liberal) asked whether Mr Chamberlain would consider the advisability of prohibiting the importation to Australia of Java t<eas, in favour of Indian and Ceylon teas, of which 100,000,0001b. was available. Mr Chamberlain replied that the matter was one for the discretion of the Commonwealth Government. If the latter saw fit to give the advantage to Empire-grown over foreign teas, he would welcome such action.
