Myers) stated this evening that the-> surplus for the past financial year wilf be a substantial one, but that details are not yet available, as the accounts have not yet been finally closed. He states that the delay in announcing the returns is due to the Treasury being under-staffed owing to the enlistment of so many members' of the stalf and to the unusually large number of accounts with the Imperial Government in connection with the Expeditionary Force that require adjustment.
