(UWIXMD PUB 3 AsSOCIATIOW.j WELLINGTON, May 18. The statement cabled ft'om Melbourne that the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald had bought a million and a half bushels of Australian wheat at 5s 6d per bushel i'.o.b. on behalf of New Zealand, has caused surprise in local circles. It does not appear to have been expected by merchants that Mr Mac Donald would have to pay so much.
