THE MOTUEKA MISSION

■Good meetings v.-ere held in the Methodist Church, at usual church hours on Sunday. An early morning Communion service at 8 o'clock proved a time of great refreshing. At 3 p.m. a largelyattended patriotic service was held in the local Institute and presided over by Mr R. P. Hudson. M.P. Mr Trigge spoke on the religious aspect of the war, and a collection was taken up for the Soldiers* Gift Fund. The after-church ra'.ly ii'i the Institute was a great success, besides the Missioner and Messrs C. A. Foston (Methodist). Newlands (Presbyterian), and Captain Thomas (Salvation Army) took part, and some 20 seekers made their way into the room at the rear at the close of the service. To-night closes the Mission, when Mr Trigge will tell the story of his life. At least 100 ipeople marched in the torchlight procession up and down the main street last night. At the principal corners short addresses were given hy Rev. Val. Triege, Mr Foston. of the Methodist 'Church, and Captain Thomas, of the Salvation Army. Hymns were sung en route, and a bright service was held in the Methodist Church, -whereat many of the. newly-made converts spoke their first lines in public. The singing of the Alexander hymns was very hearty, and- the general wish is that the mission might continue longer, but Mr Trigge has to appear at Nelson to-monow. and' the lecture entitled '•The Story of My Life." fittingly winds up to-night the very successful series of meetings held in our town.
