Mr Girdiner (Massachusetts), in a speech in the House of Representatives, denounced the Senate's retaliatory black list legislation as a blow to support Germany's uglv cause. He said: "You hypocrites, you claim that you are devoted to humanity and despise commercialism. Then why do you not pass an amendment refusing our harbours to Germany's interned ships until she repudiates the Lusitania crime?
