(Rec. July 17, 2.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 16. A great raid designed to clear the City of.criminals took pla:e in Philadelphia to-day. There were 900 arrests.. The charges 'range from drug selling to ■highway robbery. The round-up was carefullv planned and cleverly carried out. The majority of the arrests were •made in the Lehderloin district. After the police stations overflowed the prisoners were taken to public halls. More -warrants are being served. The raid is a sequel to house and highway robberies due to a wave of crime.
