Dear Sirs, —It affords mie much pleasure to be able to advise you of the oreat success I have from the 5 torus of Rockland Basic Phosphate Manure which I purchased from, you a few months ago. For many years I have been ar large user of imported Superphosphates. Basic s^a S andl various brands of New Zealand Freezing Companies' mixtures; but I HAV E NE\ ER HAD SUCH MARKED SUCCESS from anv manures as 1 HA\E HAD THIS season from your basic phosphate. in syite of worse weather conditions than \ve have experienced for many veava. I used a portion of you'- .manure to TOP DRESS some of my GRASS LAND and the 'balance I used onj oats. One paddock I manured and shut up for hay. and desnite the'dry season and general bad year for .grass, I had from tli s very old pasture a v-eiY good crop, while imoiamiretl paddocks shut up gave poor results. I manured 1 or.e paddock on which 1 run my cows regularly and •left the others. The PADDOCK "WHICH WAS MANURED I SHOULD THINK PRODUCES ABOUT 25 PER CENT. MORE FEED THAN ANY OF THE UNMATURED PADDOCKS. Clovers came in a ./surprising manner although clover had not shown: to any extent for some years. As well as this, THE GRASS SEEM'ED TO GRO W FRESHER AND TO CONTAIN MORE NOURISHMENT, as the cow s milked better and did better when, oil' the manured pasture. I had sufficient manure to cover half my oat crojj and' for the remainder I used a Freezing .Company's special grain manure. THE OATS ON WHICH I USED THE BASIC PHOSPHATE DEFT TELE OTHER OATS FAR BEHIND, AND TO SUCH A MARKED EXTENT THAT PEOPLE ASKED ME WHAT I HAD DONE TO HALF' MY CROP. I am so pleased with my success with this manure 'that, I think every farmer should know of its qualities', and to s'ee this, end, I', would be pleased to give every farmer further . .particulars and show the actual results. We purchased' t/wo tons fromi you, and 'although .late inr the season, applied a ipt>rt : oru of -it to one half of our CLOVER PADDOCK. The other half of this paddock we topdressed -with Basic Slag. The difference between the two manures ' was most marked, and WE HAD A REALLY WONDERFUL RESULT WITH THE BASIC iPHOSPHATE. The portion •manured with the Basic Phosphate grew stronger, itaJler, and) the clover was bright .green, whereas THE BASIC SLAG PORTION had. a yellowish tinge, and WAS DECIDEDLY INFERIOR.
