MARINE INSURANCE RATES
(United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 3. Replying to inquiries local insurance managers were unable to throw light on the rise in: Panama and; Mediterranean rates, though one "hazarded the opinion that possibly a subnvarine had appeared in fome fresh zone, remarking thiat when a German raider was operating in the Atlantic insurance rates rose similarly,and were lowered when the danger was removed. As tor as New Zealand is concerned there will be no rise in rates for -goods snipped via Gape Horn to Great Britain.
